World Cup Watch Party #5:Mexico vs England

Seven Baja Buddies gathered at Chiltepino’s on July 5 for our fifth—and unfortunately final—World Cup Watch Party to cheer on Mexico as they faced England in the Round of 16. We were also joined by two first-time attendees who are usually unable to attend weekday events, and it was great to finally meet them in person. Although kickoff was delayed an hour due to weather concerns, it was well worth the wait. During the gathering, we also collected the last few autographs on the Baja Buddies soccer ball from the Chiltepino’s chef, server, and Buddies who had not yet signed it. The ball will serve as a great reminder of all the fun, cheers, and memories shared across our five watch parties. Mexico fought hard but came up just short, losing 3–2 and ending their World Cup run. Despite the result, everyone enjoyed a relaxed afternoon of good food, great company, and World Cup excitement.
