Join us for a Baja Buddies adventure to Mexicali, where Mexican and Chinese cultures have blended for more than a century!
Our day begins with a scenic stop at the La Rumorosa lookout point, followed by a famous Borrego taco at the Train Stop Taco stands. Then we’ll head into the heart of Mexicali to discover La Chinesca, Mexico’s oldest Chinatown. With more than 100 years of history hidden beneath its streets, La Chinesca is unlike anywhere else in Baja. We’ll explore its mysterious underground tunnels on a guided tour, while discovering the stories, history and unique Mexican-Chinese cultural fusion that helped shape Mexicali. And after exploring underground, we’ll head back above ground for what may be the best part—lunch! We’ll enjoy a family-style feast featuring…
